Anyone else out there long for a pair of Christian Louboutins? You know the amazing shoes with the RED soles? Oh goodness I do…I love me some cool shoes. Especially when they can help me become much taller. ;) At this time of year however, I gladly embrace the flip flop, the wedge sandal and anything that shows off a fresh pedi. When it comes to fashion your shoes can say a lot about you. They can say I am feeling sassy today when you rock a pair of 4 inch stilettos or they can say I am feeling quite Audrey today when you don a pair of ballet flats. Shoes can say I am getting my workout on when you sport a pair of Nikes or they can say I am going for comfort when you wear a good old standby just to make it through a day when you have to be on your feet. Shoes can tell others your mood, your personality and where you are going.
Sometimes the hardest part of any journey is the first step. And like shoes, the steps you take in life say A LOT about you. That has been true for me in many areas of my life. When I have taken the first step and continued on a path to any goal, I have always felt better about it. Inversely if I sit idle and watch the world go by not forging ahead I have felt much worse for the wear. In a simple way that is what today’s post is. A step towards blogging again. I have missed you all very much and have gotten out of the practice of writing and journaling. Today I step towards continuing on that path and so many more. Thank you to those who have always read this blog and have waited patiently for me to start posting again. I appreciate your friendship, support and loyalty. I also encourage you to take that first step that you need to take in life. Whatever that may be on your own journey. A goal that you want to achieve, a relationship that needs mending, your fitness pursuits, a new educational journey, business venture, friendship, romance or endeavor of just being the child of God you are called to be. You will inevitably become a better person because you have taken that step. A step in the right direction is all you need. A step towards becoming the best version of yourself.
And even though I love shoes and the way they look and make me feel, it doesn’t matter at all which ones I am wearing as long as I am putting one foot in front of another each and every day. This is a yellowbrick road we are walking on and as we do we can realize we have always had the power. We have always had the opportunity to make life what we want. We have always been able to take those steps towards self fulfillment and making the world a better place. I don’t know about you, but I look forward to the journey of life. I am firm believer in the reality that each and every one of us can make our own dreams come true. Call it wishful thinking or call it positivity. I honestly and whole heartedly believe any dream I have for myself (or any dream you have for yourself) can be accomplished. Just put one foot in front of the other and continue walking. Get off the sidelines…join me. Maybe we should go shopping first and buy a pair of Jimmy Choos? Nah…come to think of it I am pretty sure my Nikes will do just fine…it is a long road ahead.

this photo is very “wish upon a star” to me
and you know what they say…when you wish upon a star…
don’t just wish . put your dreams into action . one step at a time
